Sirion Therapeutics Raises $45 Million Second Round

TAMPA, FL -- Ophthalmic company Sirion Therapeutics Inc. announced the closing of its series B round, netting $45 million from numerous investors.

The company, which focuses on biopharmaceutical-based treatments for eye diseases, is in development on four drug candidates and intends to use the proceeds to advance the drugs through clinical trials.

Investors in the round included Aisling Capital, Investor Growth Capital, Atlas Venture, Advent International, Bear Stearns Healthcare Value Partners, NovaQuest and others.
